What is a chiller?

Full name of TEC water chiller is thermoelectric refrigeration closed-loop liquid circulation unit. Its core cooling component is TEC thermoelectric cooling chip (Peltier module). It realizes cooling and heating without compressors or refrigerants. Equipped with a built-in water circulation system, it transfers cooling capacity to equipment through coolant for heat dissipation, serving as a precision temperature control device different from traditional compressor-type water chillers.

Based on the Peltier effect: When direct current passes through the TEC module composed of N/P semiconductors, one side of the module continuously absorbs heat (cold side) and the other releases heat (hot side). The cold side fits closely to a water cooling plate to chill circulating water, and a circulation pump drives cold water to flow in a closed loop to remove heat from the load. Reversing the electric current switches to heating mode, with no mechanical compression parts involved throughout operation.

The three core components of the complete unit: TEC thermoelectric module + closed-loop water circulation system + PID intelligent temperature control mainboard.

Core Differences from Conventional Compressor Water Chillers?

Structure & Vibration: Without compressors or piston motion, the unit generates zero vibration and low noise, avoiding interference with high-precision equipment such as optical instruments and chip testing machines. Compressor chillers produce constant vibration, which easily leads to light spot deviation and inaccurate test data.

Medium & Environmental Performance: No fluorocarbon refrigerants are adopted, eliminating risks of leakage and pollution. Compressor models require regular maintenance of refrigerant pipelines.

Temperature Control Precision: TEC units deliver temperature accuracy of ±0.01~±0.1℃ with minimal temperature fluctuation, while standard water chillers only achieve ±0.5~±1℃ under normal conditions.

Dual-Mode Temperature Regulation: One-key switch between cooling and heating modes, capable of both cooling and constant-temperature heat preservation. Conventional compressor chillers only support cooling and require an extra heating module to raise temperature.

Power & Size: Cooling power ranges from 160W to 2000W with a compact body, suitable for installation inside narrow equipment spaces. Compressor chillers feature higher cooling capacity yet bulky frames.
